This is a sketchbook page which shows the process of
making the illustration for my typography project. I first sketched out the
idea with general shading, then I scanned the sketch in and to bring out the
tones more. Then with the pen tool I went around the edges of the image to
create the black outlines. Then I filled in the shapes with base colours, and
after that I used the knife tool to slice through these shapes made by the
block colours, and I filled these slices in with highlights and shadows in the
appropriate places.
